Gregory "Greg" Michael Glover

Gregory Michael “Greg” Glover, 57 of Newport News, Virginia, passed away from complications of a brief illness at his home on Sunday, August 24, 2025.

Greg was born on December 12, 1967, in Huntsville, Alabama, to Robert Joel "Bob" Glover and Linda Lide Glover of Newport News, Virginia. Greg is the beloved son of Robert and Linda, a devoted brother, and a man who enjoyed being close to his family and delighted in spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his parents, Linda and Bob Glover; his brother, Joel Sloan Glover; his sister-in-law, Lauran Roth Glover; and his niece, Grace Elizabeth (Gigi) Glover, all of Hampton, Virginia.

Greg graduated from Menchville High School in 1986 and earned his Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Christopher Newport University in 1994.

He attended LibertyLive Church in Hampton, where he grew in his faith and was encouraged in his walk with the Lord. He was deeply passionate about automotive and aeronautical fields and enjoyed exploring his interest with great enthusiasm. He traveled extensively with his family around the country and always enjoyed locations that had lighthouses, a special interest of his. His sense of humor and habit of making funny nicknames for things always lit up the room. He could fashion light-hearted stories out of common experiences, bringing everyone to fits of laughter.

He will be remembered as a cherished son, brother, brother-in-law and uncle, whose presence brought love and connection to those around him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Greg’s memory to LibertyLive Church in Hampton, Virginia.

Gregory's final disposition is being managed by Weymouth Funeral Home in Newport News, while Spry Funeral Home in Huntsville, Alabama will oversee the memorial service.
