James Flanagan Hester, Jr.

James Flanagan Hester, Jr., age 83 of Huntsville, passed away Monday, May 27, 2019. He was born on June 7, 1935 in Russellville, Alabama to James and Ava Hester. He was a long time member, deacon and trustee at Lakewood Baptist Church and an avid gardener and woodworker. Mr. Hester was also a retired aerospace engineer.

Mr. Hester is survived by his wife of 61 years, Tina Hester; son James F. Hester, III (Donna), their children: Michelle, Kyle and James IV; son David Hester (Ann), their son David Jr.; daughter Anne Peters (Bruce), their children: Ben, Hannah (deceased) and Allison; son Will Hester (Camille), their children: Chase, Georgia, Eli and Jae; and great grandchildren: Avi, Gracie and Chloe.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Lakewood Baptist Church. Memorial service will follow at 11:00 am at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to Lakewood Baptist Church.
