Our beloved mother and grandmother, Janice Anne (Olechnicki) Buckley, born in Winchendon, MA, died on October 15, 2024, after a long illness. She died peacefully with her whole family around her. She was 83.
Janice was the heart of our home and family. She is survived by her three children. Edward J. Buckley II, Lisa M. Clark (Don), Jeanne C. Laymon (Mark), her grandchildren Landon J. Laymon (Makayla), Adam J. Clark and Stephen W. Laymon. She was preceded in death by her Father Stephen A. Olechnicki, Mother Jeanne (Christian) Olechnicki, her sister Nancy M. (Olechnicki) Martin, and her brother Thomas P. Olechnicki, as well as a host of close friends.
Janice raised three children in a happy and loving home to be independent and thoughtful adults. As a grandmother, she was the “fun grammy”. She especially had a love of all beautiful things, and her flower gardens showed it. There were always beautiful flowers in her gardens with birds and butterflies swarming around them. She loved to dance and was always the center of attention at any holiday gathering. Just the way she loved being.
She worked 35 years for New Hampshire Ball Bearing (NHBB) until she finally retired and moved south to Alabama, to be with her family in her retirement years. Janice was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Winchendon, MA, and was a devout Christian woman. She belonged to many organizations she supported for charity.
A “Celebration of Life” gathering will be held privately by the family, at a later date.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Huntsville Hospice Family Care.
