Jeff Anthony Cole, age 70, of Huntsville, AL, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and a friend to all who were fortunate enough to know him. Born to Emmett Paul Cole, Jr. and Bernice Cole of Fruitland, TN. Jeff's life was defined by his unwavering kindness, his gentle soul, and his profound dedication to serving others. He had a remarkable ability to make everyone he met feel like a lifelong friend.
He was preceded in death by his father, Emmett Paul Cole, Jr., and his brother, Christopher Cole. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Pamela Bailey Cole; his three sons, Anthony Brandon Cole, Andrew Bailey Cole, and Adam Benjamin Cole; his mother, Bernice Cole; and his three sisters, Tara Mitchell, Melanie Nutt, and Alisa Swanson.
He was an avid fisherman, a movie enthusiast, a music lover, and a supporter of the Tennessee Vols. For many years, he dedicated his time to shaping young lives on the baseball diamond and basketball court, guiding his three sons and their teammates with patience and encouragement.
Jeff's professional life was his calling. He dedicated 51 years to caring for others as an orthotist and prosthetist. His journey began at age 17 at Snell's in Jackson, TN, inspired by a conversation with a veteran amputee. He pursued formal education at The University of Memphis, earned an Associate of Arts and Sciences from Jackson State Community College, and obtained his Long Term Certificate in Orthotics from Shelby State Community College.
Over his career, Jeff served in numerous leadership and clinical roles at Snell's in Memphis as a Clinical Orthotist and later as Fabrication Supervisor. He eventually started his own business, Cole Custom Orthotics & Prosthetics, with his son Ben. For the last 37 years, he was a pillar of the Huntsville medical community, spending 17 years as Chief Orthotist at Alabama Orthotics and Prosthetics, followed by another 20 years at Infinity O&P and The Orthopedic Center. He held a special place in his heart for the children he treated at Children's Rehabilitation Services alongside Dr. Richard Burnside.
He will be missed so very much. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
