John Carder, 96, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas and Catherine Vance Carder and his wife, Alice Lou Carder (his wife of 53 years). He is survived by his daughters, Debra (John) Bocking and Susan (Dan) McCrary of Huntsville; his sons, John Michael Carder of Snellville, Georgia and James (Beth) Carder of Cumming, Georgia; his sister, Catherine Duane Booth of Parrish, Florida; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. John was retired from Chrysler Corporation, a U.S. Army Veteran, a Mason and a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Internal Order of Eagles. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
John was most in his element working on and restoring classic automobiles and memorabilia. He was also an avid golfer, enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and other outdoor activities.
Visitation and Funeral will be at Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. Visitation from 11:00am-12:30pm and the Funeral at 12:30pm. Interment at Maple Hill Cemetery after the funeral.
