John Lewis Howell

John Lewis Howell, 95, Gurley, Alabama, passed away February 6, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving family.  John was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Shirley Darlene Howell. Survivors include sons, David (Laura) Howell , Rodney Howell, and Daniel (Anna) Howell; daughter Sandra (Cary) LaBonte ; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 2 great, great grandchildren.  He was a member of the Huntsville City Church (formerly, Mastin Lake Church of God of Prophecy).  He loved his family, church, singing, fishing and gardening.

Visitation will be Monday, February 10, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm at Spry Funeral Home, with the service immediately following in the chapel.  Bro. Blake Neivel will be officiating.  The interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery, Huntsville, AL.
