John H Vickers Sr.

John H. Vickers, Sr., 88, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021. He was born September 16, 1932 in Madison County to Cora Vickers and George W. Vickers. He served a full military career with the U. S. Army with active duty and 32 of those years with the 279th Signal Battalion. He served his country with honor and dignity. He loved country bluegrass and gospel music.

Mr. Vickers is survived by his significant other of 20 plus years, Naomi Walker; sons Johnny (Martha) Vickers, Terry Vickers and Troy (Karen) Vickers; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Joshua Vickers and a great grandson.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Spry Funeral Home from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm with the service to follow in the chapel at 1:00 pm. Interment will be in New Grove Cemetery in Ardmore, TN (Blanche).
