Johnny Corrlect Harris (Pop) was born in Marion, Alabama to Eunice and Troy alongside his sister Margie Jones and his brother Wayne Harris. Upon graduating high school, Johnny enlisted in the United States Army on September 16 th , 1969 and served for a total of 20 years. During his time in the Military, he served in the Vietnam war and was stationed across the world including but not limited to Germany, Korea, and Hawaii. Additionally, he received several distinguished awards, some of which are The Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Medal. Despite all his accomplishments, what Johnny prized most was his marriage with Chong Cha O. Their marriage resulted in two children Johnny Corrlect Jr. and Crystal. Upon settling down, in Huntsville Alabama, Johnny worked in a management position with Service Solution. In his free time, Pop enjoyed many things such as reading his bible, watching western and sci-fi movies, doing crossword puzzles and watching the Alabama football games with his family. During his last years, Pop battled COPD, but despite his struggles he remained a loving and reliable husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his wife Chong; their two children Johnny Harris Jr., Crystal Harris; grandchildren Christian Harris (Alyssa), Isaiah Martin (Erin), and Elisiah Buchwald; Great grandchild Ruth Martin. Pop will always be remembered for his devotion to the Lord and family.
A memorial service will be held at International Baptist Church located at 1025 Shelton Rd, Madison, AL.
