Adam Embrey, 47, of Madison, AL, passed away in his home of natural causes on March 18, 2026.
Adam was a lifelong resident of the Huntsville/Madison, AL area and was the only child and pride and joy of his parents Mary Ann and Joe Embrey.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mary Lee (Boots) and Dave Brichetto of Vicksburg, Mississippi; and paternal grandparents, Helen and J.B. Embrey of Huntsville, AL. In addition, his best friend, MIA, his white boxer.
He leaves behind the love of his life, his cherished son, Jordan Embrey of Madison, AL with whom he shared so many trips (including back-packing Europe, crazy adventures (including face-planting first time ski trip to Aspen), laughs and love of all things Computing/Electronics. He treasured every minute with Jordan and they never ran out of things to talk about, mostly Technology which bored others and went over everyone else’s head.
In addition, he is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Embrey of Madison, AL; father, Joe Embrey; and Step-Mother, Wendy Embrey of Hanceville, AL. He had two precious half siblings, brother, Hunter (Katelyn) Embrey of Vinemont and sister, Peyton (Isaac) Abbott of Hanceville.
He also leaves his ex-wife and life-long friend, Jannie Rhoden, of Casper, Wyoming, several loving Aunts, cousins and too many friends to count.
Adam had several diverse interests and a multitude of hobbies. He recently discovered the Joy of Fishing!! He wasn’t very good at actually catching the fish but that never kept him from talking about it or staying off of the water. In typical Adam fashion, he instantly converted a simple shell of a boat with a motor into a technological wonder, equipped with the latest in computerized features designed to terrorize local fish.
Besides his family, Adam had two great loves in his life.
One was computing/technology. From his early days in high school in the 90’s, when he would stay in trouble for being up all night on his old-fashioned, dial-up computer, to the day he passed, he loved and excelled at anything related to computers and the newest electronic technology including I.A. Many referred to Adam as “brilliant” in this area.
He was a Network Engineer with an impressive resume, an array of accomplishments, cost savings, and significant innovations, receiving accolades from upper management and customers alike.
His second love was his friends. Adam lived a life surrounded by friends. He loved to entertain, cook/grill for them, share projects/hobbies, and charmed everyone with his what can only be described as a very quick, quirky, and irreverent sense of humor. He had a knack for making friends and keeping them for decades to come. He had a big, BIG heart and opened his home, his life, his caring concern and counsel to all who needed him and friends always mention how loyal and protective he was to those lucky enough to be his friend.
Family chooses to believe that Adam passed of heart failure due to the fact his heart was SO big and full of love that it just failed him while he slept peacefully on his couch, as he well deserved…. a smooth, painless transition into eternal life.
There are no formal services planned.
