Josephine “Jo” D. Guzzo, 86, passed away peacefully in Huntsville, Alabama. She was born in Colorado and raised in California, later making her home in Canton and Pinckney, Michigan, before settling in Huntsville.
Josephine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and woman of deep faith. She shared a loving marriage with her beloved husband, Francesco Guzzo, and together they built a life rooted in family, faith, and service.
She was the proud mother of Julie Wolf (Eric Wolf), Lisa Husser (Don Husser), Tony Guzzo (December Guzzo), and Michael Guzzo (Andrea Guzzo). She was a cherished grandmother to Justin Husser (Madeline Husser), Nathan Husser, Anthony Husser, Brent Wolf, Dominic Wolf, Marco Wolf, Francesco Guzzo, William Guzzo, Luca Guzzo, and Easton Gibson.
Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Anna Barbero, and her brothers Joseph Barbero and Louis Barbero.
A devoted homemaker, Josephine dedicated her life to caring for her family, creating a home filled with warmth, love, and tradition. She also worked as a teacher’s aide supporting children with special needs, a role that reflected her patience, compassion, and generous heart.
Jo found her greatest joy in time spent with her family. She was a proud and constant presence at hockey rinks, baseball fields, and soccer sidelines, cheering on her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, and spoiling her beloved dogs. Her strong faith in the Catholic Church guided her throughout her life and was a source of strength, comfort, and grace.
Josephine will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her quiet strength, and her enduring faith. Her legacy of love and kindness will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
