Joyce Lowther, 90 of Scottsboro, Alabama, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and quite strength that touched everyone who knew her.
Joyce was born in Birmingham to Lloyd and Ivey Green on July 17, 1935.
Born with a smile that could light up any room, Joyce lived her life with a steadfast faith that she shared generously. She was loving, hardworking, caring, and resilient, with qualities that shaped her family and guided her through every season of life.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband of 74 years, Walter P. Lowther Sr.; her son Michael Lowther, her grandson, Michael Lowther jr.; and her granddaughter, the late Laura Cowell, her great-granddaughter, the late Kyndal Davis, the late Muriel Barnett, the late T L Green the late Jester Green, and the late Bobby Green. She is survived by her son, Walter P. Lowther Jr., and his wife Freda.
She was the cherished grandmother of Kacey Parker (Dustin), Linda Ragland, Shannon Jtineant, Justin Lowther (Manda), Kayla Lowther, April Belcher (Trent), and Matthew Davis.
She was blessed with many great-grandchildren: Abby Cornelius (Cannon), Katie Rayburn (Eli), Dawson Ragland, Zachery Ragland, Isabella Jtineant, Hanna Potter, Emma Potter, Evan Potter, Baylee Bryant, Jacob Davis, Miranda Kay Lowther, Levi Lowther, Jaxon Lowther, Gage Davis, Mia Parker, Lenlee Davis and Zawyer Davis.
Her joy multiplied again with her great-great-grandchildren; Thomas Cornelius, Archer Cornelius, and Brooks Rayburn.
Joyce and her husband owned and operated the Shoe Outlet and Lowther Tax Service, Inc. in Huntsville, Alabama, where they served their community with dedication and kindness.
Outside of work, Joyce found joy in sewing, doll-making, tending flowers, and embracing travel and adventure whenever she could. Her creativity and curiosity were lifelong companions. Above all, Joyce will be remembered for her radiant smile, her unwavering faith, and the love she poured into her family.
Her presence was a blessing, and her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
