Joyce Ann (Little) Wilkerson

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our mother, Joyce Ann Wilkerson on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at the age of 86.

Joyce was a lifelong resident of Huntsville. She was a longtime and faithful member of Cornerstone Community Church, formerly known as First Church of God. She was a faithful Christian, loved the Lord, and was a devoted prayer warrior for her friends and family.

Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was an avid seamstress, worked with joy in her flowers, loved to cross stitch, making many Christmas ornaments for family members over the years. Joyce was known as a wonderful cook, having prepared many meals for her family and friends through the years. Some of her most requested foods to cook were her macaroni and cheese, fried okra, and deviled eggs!

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Newman C. Wilkerson; her parents, Homer and Annie Little; and her brother, Homer Little, Jr.

Joyce is survived by her children, Teresa Russell and husband David, Kyle Wilkerson and wife Karen, and Melissa Tepool and husband Mike; grandchildren, Danielle McKinney and husband Dustin, Brittany Taylor and husband Jeremiah, Caitlyn McDonald and husband Lloyd, Sarah Reagan Hughes and her husband Austin, Tanner Russell and wife Tori, and Anna Tepool; and great grandchildren, Laiken Russell, Colton Taylor, Logan McKinney, Carson Taylor, Parker McKinney, Wilkerson "Wilks" McDonald, Townsend "Towns" McDonald, Catherine Russell, Gray Hughes, and Annie Russell.

The family will receive friends at visitation on Thursday, January 16th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home. The service will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel, with burial at Maple Hill Cemetery.

Pastor Michael Lightfoot will conduct the service, along with other family members speaking also.

Pall bearers will be Mike Tepool, Tanner Russell, Lloyd McDonald, Austin Hughes, Dustin McKinney, and Jeremiah Taylor.
