Katarina Scarlett Chandler

It is hard for us to write these words this soon. Katarina Scarlett Chandler passed from this life on September 22. She was 32 years old. She was born when we were with the Army in Panama. Her biggest challenge in life was spina bifida...she was confined to a wheelchair all of her life - but she lived the life she had to the fullest and would run you over if you weren’t quick enough. It was a physical limitation, but never an emotional or a spiritual limitation - Scarlett soared on wings of angels every day she was among us.

She developed sepsis from a kidney infection and it got into her blood stream and started impacting her other organs. She fought hard for nearly a month, but she was always a fighter.

She is now free from the constraints of her earthly body and safe in the arms of Jesus.

It’s a journey to our eternal home we will all make one day.  Although we shall always have a Scarlett-shaped hole in our hearts, we know she is today running on streets of gold and that gives us peace and joy.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville, Alabama. The family will receive friends at Spry Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 2:00 pm until 4:00pm. Funeral services will be at 4:00 pm on September 26, 2018 at Spry Funeral Home with interment to follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be made to the Blood Water Organization or Compassion International.
