Katie Carolyn (Hargrove) Letson

Katie Carolyn Hargrove Letson, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jackie Letson; daughter, Tana Smith; parents, Edward and Inez Hargrove; sister-in-law, Susie Hargrove, and great-grandchild, Goldie Rutland.

Katie is survived by her daughter, Tracy Pennington, and husband, John Pennington; step-son, Jamie Letson & wife Jesma; and step-daughter, Kristy Seamons & husband Shane. She is also survived by her brothers, Edward Hargrove, and Sherman Hargrove & wife Jackye.

She leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Katie found her greatest happiness in time spent with family, travel, sharing stories, laughter, and love. Her gentle spirit, kind heart, and steady faith will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

Great grandson, Manny Rutland, has selected this verse for the family:  1 Peter 3:4 (NIV) "Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight."
