Kenneth Severain Strom, aged 65, of Meridianville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2025.
He was born February 16, 1960, in Stambaugh, Michigan, to Kenneth and Sarah (Schall) Strom. He graduated in 1978 from Rogers High School in Florence, Alabama. He attended the University of Alabama Huntsville in 1984, graduating with an electrical engineering degree.
He married Laurie Trout on November 26, 1993. They raised two children, Kenneth Jr. and Theodor in the town of Hazel Green, Alabama. His hobbies included NASCAR, football, working on cars and volunteering at the Huntsville Assistance Program food pantry. He attended Hazel Green United Methodist Church.
Ken retired as an electrical engineer from the Strategic Missile Defense Command Technical Center on Redstone Arsenal with 32 years of service. He received a Superior Civilian Award at retirement. Ken was also the recipient of a medal of honor from The Honorable Order of Saint Barbara United States Air Defense Artillery.
He is survived by his wife Laurie, his children Kenneth Jr. and Theodor of Indianapolis, Indiana, his mother Sarah Strom of Bradenton, Florida, sisters Carol (Ron) Twardowski of Iron River, Michigan, and Cindi Bodoin of Little Rock, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his father Kenneth and brother Keith.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 11:00am until 12:00pm at Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville. Services will follow the visitation at 12:00pm in the Spry Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Strom will be laid to rest at Resthaven Cemetery in Iron River Michigan on May 21, 2025.
