Leamon Satterfield

Leamon Satterfield, 92, passed away peacefully on Feb. 14, 2021 at Tut Fann Veterans Home. He was born on Oct. 21,1928, to William Houston and Emma Satterfield. He joined the Navy when he was only 16 years old and served during WWII. He then joined the Air Force and served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

He retired from the Air Force in 1968 and was always proud of his service to his country.

Another thing he was proud of was his service to the Lord. After his wife prayed for him for 39 years, he changed his life and became a devout member of the Holiness church.

Leamon was preceded in death by his wife, Avis Satterfield, his daughter Michelle Turner, his parents, Houston Satterfield and Emma Hill Woods, his aunt Rena Satterfield who raised him, sisters Jimmie Lee Myers and Ophelia Woods Hilliard, and his brother Durwood Satterfield.

He is survived by daughter Yvonne McAllister and husband Frank, grandchildren Kevin McAllister (Leanne), Brian McAllister (Nancy) and Ashlyn Keeton (Russell), great grandchildren Katelyn and Erin McAllister, Joshua and Sarah McAllister, and Lila and Joseph Keeton, and one brother Otis Woods.
