Liesel Schardt Breaux, 85, of Fayetteville, TN passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.
Liesel was born on January 4, 1941 in Plankstadt, Germany. She carried her heritage with pride and became a beautician upon completion of Beauty School. While in Germany, she met her future husband Charles Breaux, who was stationed with the United States Army. They married in 1962 and began their life together in Germany and started their family. In 1963, they moved to New Iberia, Louisiana, where Liesel taught beauty school and grew their family. They transferred to Huntsville, Alabama in 1965. Later in life they settled in the cozy town of Fayetteville, Tennessee, where they continued to live until her passing.
Liesel was the heart of her family, showing love through her cooking by blending her German roots with her new family’s Cajun traditions. She spread her love through her cooking and baking especially during the holidays. Her grandchildren and great-grandson brought her endless pride and happiness. Liesel will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, and the love she poured into everyone around her. She was truly one of a kind, and her presence made the world brighter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Luise Schardt; her brother, Otto Schardt; and her parents-in-law, Charles Gladney Breaux, Sr. and Alberta Peltier Breaux.
