Linda May (Chinberg) Herdy

Linda May Chinberg Herdy was born on January 8,1960 in Denver, Colorado and went to be with her Heavenly Father on January 13, 2026, following extended health challenges.

After receiving an associate’s degree from Snead State University and Troy State University Linda moved to Doraville, GA and began her career at Emory University where she worked for several years before moving to Huntsville, AL where she and her daughter Sarah lived. After moving to Huntsville, she worked numerous jobs to include the Huntsville Public Library and Adtran, Inc. before landing her most rewarding job as the Front Office Manager at the 911 Center where she worked for 15 years until she retired.

Throughout her life, Linda had a servant's heart and showed a deep commitment to caring for others. Sarah, her daughter, was the love of her life and brought an incredible amount of joy to it every day. They shared many adventures together over the years to include trips to the beach and getting involved with different Zumba groups which she loved.

Linda is survived in death by her daughter Sarah Destito and her brother Steve Chinberg and his wife Judy; her brother Gary Chinberg and his wife Nancy; her sister Sharon Andrews and her husband Greg; her sister Lisa McArthur and her husband Jim and a loving extended family. She is preceded in death by her loving parents Vincent and Joyce Chinberg.

A visitation service will be at Spry Funeral Home at 2411 Memorial Parkway NW in Huntsville, AL, on Monday, January 26, 2026, from 10:00-11:00. Immediately following will be a Celebration of Life service to reflect on Linda’s life.
