Linda Lee Jones, 84, of Huntsville, Alabama passed away September 19, 2024. Born at home in August 1940, in Soldier, KS., she often boasted about going from an outhouse to carrying a computer in her pocketbook. Linda loved her family, friends, golf, quilting and Alabama football. She was a veteran at being the spouse of a United States Marine and a world traveler with a green thumb. Linda worked as an optician with doctors Winton, Sullins and Lee for almost 40 years.
Linda is survived by her spouse of 66 years, Charles A. Jones; daughters, Nancy Jones and Darla Bragg (William); grandsons, Michael Bragg, Jason Bragg and partner Lottie Sides; sisters, Mary Link of Missouri and Peggy Jenkins of Kansas; brother, Melvin Slocum of Arizona. Proceeded in death by her parents, Truman and Virginia Slocum; brothers, Wendell and Duan Slocum; sister, Beverly (Don) Lowry; Brother-in Law, Donald Jenkins.
Visitation will take place from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. A small service for family and close friends will be held graveside directly following visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
