A Life Rooted in Grace, Grit, and Faith
On June 4th, 2025, Lois Trapp Maples of Huntsville, Alabama, entered into eternal rest at the age of 90. Though her earthly journey has come to a close, her spirit lives on—through the lives she touched, the love she gave, and the unwavering faith that carried her every step of the way.
Lois was a woman of strength—spunky, stubborn in the best way, fiercely independent, and deeply respected. She lived boldly, spoke truthfully, and loved her family with everything she had. But above all, Lois was a believer in Jesus Christ. She was saved, and she carried her faith with quiet assurance, leaning on the Lord in both joyful moments and life’s hardest trials. Her faith was her anchor, her guide, and her greatest comfort.
Lois dedicated many years of service to the MOD agency on Redstone Arsenal, where her work ethic and dependability were unmatched. Yet her true joy came from life’s simpler gifts—She was happiest in the garden, hands in the dirt, coaxing beauty from the ground with patience and care. She found peace in the rhythm of needlepoint, and meaning in scrapbooking—each photo, each note, each keepsake a love letter to the people and moments that mattered most. Her life was art stitched in thread and memory.
Lois was the heart of a family that spanned generations. She is survived by her Daughter-in-law Patricia Lones, her Son-in-law Danny Lones, and her beloved grandchildren Dillon Maples, Crystal Davis, DeAnna Garcia Tony Maples; Her great-grandchildren—Sofia, Aspen, Sergio, Rilynn and Miracle—were her pride and joy, lights in her later years who will carry forward her stories and strength.
To know Lois was to know authenticity. She said what she meant, stood for what was right, and lived with an unshakable moral compass. Her presence was a gift, and her absence will be deeply felt.
A celebration of Lois’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 11th at Spry Funeral Home in Huntsville. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM. She will be laid to rest at Maple Hill Cemetery.
Though we grieve, we do not grieve without hope—for we know that Lois has gone home to be with her Savior. Her race is finished, her faith has been made sight, and she is now resting in perfect peace.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
