Lily Lucille Smith, 91, of Huntsville, AL went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.
Lucille was born in Section, AL. She was a homemaker, talented cook, gardener, operated family owned grocery delivery service in Rome, Georgia. She was a sales associate for Woolco Department Store, Loveman’s, McRae’s, Parisian and Belk Department Stores. She was a faithful member of West Huntsville Baptist Church and Charter member of Woodland Hill Baptist Church. She loved unconditionally and never met a sweet treat she didn’t like.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse McNaron Smith of sixty one years. Her parents, Ed and Martha Sparks. Siblings, Rayburn Sparks, Flora Carter and Barbara Sue Harless.
She is survived by her four sons Joe Smith, Sparky Smith and wife Lisa, Ricky Smith and wife Donna, and John Smith; 10 grandchildren Joshua Smith (Rachel), Whitney Smith, Mac Smith, Marcy Zambo (Matthew), Scarlett Smith (Chase), Amanda Riddle (Greg), Cortney Owen (David), Richard Smith, Sarah Oglesby (Matt), Jesse Austin Smith and fiancé Emily Durand; 16 great grandchildren, Gracin, Charlotte, Mac, Garner, Logan, Baylor, Anna Kate, Avery Addeline, Cade, Caroline, Finley, Dylan, Maddie Layne, Adeline, Kash, William; Siblings Margaret Honey, Jerry Sparks (Linda). As well as numerous cousins, friends and distant relatives.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville.
Visitation will be Friday, October 13th from 12:30-2 PM at Woodland Hill Baptist Church 1705 Sparkman Drive, 35816. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. with Rev. Rick Johnson and Mr. Hoss Johnson officiating. Music lead by Mr. Steve Spray. Interment will be at Huntsville Memory Gardens 6810 University Dr. 35806.
Grandsons, great-grandsons, grandsons-in-laws will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Woodland Hills Baptist Church in memory of Lucille Smith. She was the last living founding member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church.
