It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Magdalena Hurley, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend who left us peacefully on Wednesday, March 12th, 2025, at the age of 77. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, compassion and generosity touching the hearts of all who knew her.
Born on November 19th, 1947, in Angeles City (Pampanga), Philippines. Nena was the cornerstone of her family, dedicating her life to nurturing and supporting those she held dear. As a devoted mother, she instilled strength, kindness and discipline in her children, and as a grandmother, she took in her grandson Jonathan and granddaughter Jaimie under her care and helped raise them like her own children.
Her unwavering faith and dedication to her community and faith were evident through her involvement in local church families and sitting with her neighbors whenever they needed help.
Nena had a gift for making everyone feel valued and cared for, whether through cooking food, helping with house chores or cutting grass; she was always ready to serve.
Nena is survived by her loving family: James Hurley (son), Michael Hurley (son), Jonathan Hurley (grandson), Jaimie Hurley (granddaughter), Courtney (granddaughter in law), Mycal (grandson), Qyncee (grandson) and preceded in death by Lukas (great grandson), Lori (daughter), Maddox & Duke (doggies) Pets: Annabis, Ducky, Bulma, Nova and Token. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit, lessons, memories, and love will remain in our hearts forever.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday March 23, 2025, at Spry Funeral Home, 2411 Memorial Parkway NW, Huntsville, AL 35810 from 1-3 PM. Family and friends are welcome to join us in honoring her remarkable life and the lasting legacy she leaves behind.
