Marcella House, 92, passed peacefully into her eternal reward on September 24, surrounded by her loving family.
The second of five children, Marcella grew up in White County, Arkansas, where she met the love of her life, Dewey. After marriage, they moved to Wichita, then his work brought the family to Huntsville. After her boys graduated, she joined the workforce as a floor supervisor for GTE. She retired in the early 80s to spend time with her grandchildren. In 2022, she moved to Florence, where she was able to spend more time with her family. Marcella was a nurturer, and she dedicated her time to volunteering and helping others. She loved music, greeting cards, and phone calls, but visits brought her the most joy. She cherished every moment spent with friends and family.
Marcella was preceded in death by her husband Dewey, sisters Barbara and Loretta, brother Clifton, daughter-in-law Barbara, and granddaughter April. She is survived by her sister Mary, her sons Russell House of Huntsville and Larry (Kathy) House of Florence, grandchildren Marie (Jason), Audrey (Wade), Katie (Blake), and Ryan (Christa), several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
To her friends at Jordan Park Church of Christ, Regency Retirement Village of Huntsville, and the group from Chase Church of Christ who hosted the Sunday service at Regency: she spoke of you frequently, and the time you all spent together was a highlight of her life. Special thanks to The Cottages Assisted Living and Dr. Amber Olsen in Florence for providing top-notch care over the last three years, and to Southern Care New Beacon Hospice for your compassionate care.
Thanks to Jordan Park Church of Christ and her friend, Sandra Miller, for assistance with her funeral service. Funeral service will be conducted by Jeff Cason and Jeff Archer.
