Marcus (Mark) Leon Kennamer, of Kennamers Cove Woodville, Alabama, passed peacefully away on February 17, 2026, at the age of 72.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Grace Kennamer; and his niece, Keri Chapman Russell. Mark is survived by his sister, Kay K.Tate of Guntersville, AL; nephew, Fred Chapman of Anniston, AL; niece, Kim Chapman Randell of Chattanooga, TN; 3 great nieces, and a great nephew.
Mark attended Jones Valley Elementary in Huntsville, AL, Woodville School of Woodville, AL, and graduated from Madison County High School in Gurley, AL. He later served in the US Army stationed in Germany, after returning home he worked for Thiokol and NASA at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL. In 2007 he received the prestigious award, the Silver Snoopy Award pin, this is an award that is presented to the individual that best Insureds the space flight safety. It is presented by the Astronaut that flew into space, with the Silver Snoopy Pin on board.
He was a long time resident of Kennamers Cove, Woodville AL at the time of his passing.
There will be a celebration of life at the Kennamer Trading Post on Cathedral Cavern Rd near Grant AL. On Sunday, March 22, 1:30pm until 3:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested a donation to the Kennamer Family Association.
