Marsha Renee Wells, a long-time resident of the Huntsville, AL community died unexpectedly on 23 July 2020 at the age of 58. She is survived by her husband, Chief Warrant Officer 4 Michael Wells, USA, Retired; her children, Kurtis (Jessica) Boehm and family of Birmingham, AL; Chelsea (Tim) Colombo and family of Huntsville, AL; Reid (Josie) Boehm of Charleston, SC; and step son, Major Eric (Jamie) Wells, USAF of Seymour Johnson AFB; her mother, Marjorie Gambrel of Sturgeon Bay, WI; two sisters, Dee Ann Hopper of Baileys Harbor, WI and Janet (Rob) Shepard of Auburndale, FL in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father, Earl Gambrel, brother in law Arthur Hopper and granddaughter Savannah Ann Wells.
Marsha was born in Decatur, IL on 4 September 1961 to Earl and Marjorie Gambrel. She graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1980 and over the next 15 years she dedicated her time to raising her three children. She then entered the work force managing contracts and personnel for the DoD and defense contracting companies, most recently providing direct support to the U.S. Army’s Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) Program Office.
On 20 July 2010 she married Mike in the Grand Teton National Park. Marsha was a devoted wife, mother and Mimi with vast amounts of energy, passion, intelligence, and love. She enjoyed traveling, entertaining, hiking, horseback riding, gardening, solving challenging puzzles, and bunco. Most of all she enjoyed time with family and friends. She was also a planner and problem-solver who often took on difficult projects/positions at work and around the house. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.
An open house Celebration of Life is scheduled for 22 August 2020 at the Carriage House within the Huntsville Botanical Gardens from 11am-3pm. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Marsha's honor to Homes for our Troops www.hfotusa.org or Necrotizing Enterocolitis Society (NEC) www.necsociety.org.
