Martha Carolyn (Baker) Batie

Mrs. Martha Batie was born one of ten children to the late Bessie Burns. Martha was born on November 6, 1951, in Mobile, Alabama. She departed this life on October 28, 2024. She is preceded in death by her mother Bessie Burns; two sisters, Sarah Batie and Betty Wright; and three brothers, Edward Burns, Joe Burns, and Tony Burns.

Her memory will be cherished by her husbands, William K. Batie of Madison, AL. They were married for 55 years. Martha is survived by her son, William T. Batie (Michelle) of Gulfport, MS; daughter, Pamela Batie of Madison, AL; one grandson, William A. Batie of Gulfport, MS; one brother, John Burns; three sisters, Judy Frost, Linda Longmire, and Beverly Steele. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was also known by her nickname “Kat” to her family.

Our hearts are filled with humble gratitude to God for granting us the privilege of sharing the wonderful life of Mrs. Martha Batie, who touched so many people. Our heartfelt appreciation extended during our bereavement. May God continue to bless each and everyone.
