Mary Lou (Shasteen) Lang, 89 years of age left her earthly home and entered into her heavenly home on January 31st, 2024.
Mary Lou was born on May 04, 1934, in Madison County Alabama to Jesse Shasteen and Mary Ella (Hutchens) Shasteen. Mary Lou lived in the Meridianville, Alabama, area for over sixty years. She had a passion for gardening. She enjoyed growing flowers and vegetables. She would can and freeze the vegetables she grew. She enjoyed cooking, however, she loved to hand stitch, crochet afghans, and making hand sewn quilts. She loved visits from her children, grandchildren, all her family and neighbors as well. There were times when people would stop in to visit her unannounced as she was preparing a meal. She would just add more food to the meal and invite them to stay and eat. She was so excited every year when she got to cook for and attend the family reunion at Paint Rock, Al. Her grandchildren were the light in her eyes. She had a very special friend (her fur baby Lucky) which brought her much comfort, joy, and love.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles R. Lang, her son Ricky C. Lang, and a grandson Jason D. Waldron.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Sherrill Pridmore (Tom); and five grandchildren, Shallon Rogers, Stefanie Baker (Nathaniel), Ricky C. Lang Jr (Jennifer), Laura Hall (Trent), and Jennifer Pridmore. Mary Lou is also survived by several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews, especially a special nephew Bruce Riggs.
Mary Lou was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
