Mary Ann Newman

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Mary Ann Newman, 71, of Huntsville, Alabama. She was a beloved mother, Gammy, and friend, who passed away on Thursday April 23,2026. Born on August 9,1954 to Geneva Riddle in Hazel Green, Alabama. Ann lived a life filled with kindness, love, and devotion to her family.

Ann worked for Marshal Space Flight Center as an administrative assistant for 44 years. She retired in 2014 to be able to spend time with her grandbabies.

Ann is survived by her loving children Charles Derrick Newman and Mary Gennell French ( Patrick Lynn French); her grandchildren Tristan Lynn French and Emerson Kate French. She was predeceased by her brother Ricky Thornton, and mother Geneva Riddle.

Services will be held at Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville on May 2, 2026. A memorial gathering will be held from 1:00PM-2:00PM, followed by a celebration of life at 2:00pm.
