Myrtle Maxine (Hise) Patterson, age 96 of Huntsville, passed away Monday. Maxine was born on August 14, 1928 in Layfette, GA to Robert Hise and Louise Bryant.
Maxine was married to WL (Pat) Patterson Jr. for over 70 years. Maxine and Pat loved to travel together, play golf with friends, and they loved to dance. They also shared the love of antique cars and going to the FOE (Eagles) weekly to eat and dance with friends.
Maxine was a member of Lakewood Baptist church for over 60 years. She loved to go to her garden club. She was a hairdresser as a profession but was also an artist that loved to paint oil paintings for pleasure.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Lamb Patterson, Jr.
Maxine is survived by her only daughter, Darlene Patterson Davis and her husband, Steve Davis; two grandchildren, Stephanie Davis Smith (Houston) and Ryan Patterson Davis; five great grandchildren, Isabel Smith, Jude Smith, Davis Smith, Patterson Smith, Waters Smith; and siblings, Wanda Elmore Rogers, Jimmy Elmore, and Jim Hise.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville, where the family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 until 2:15pm. A funeral service will follow in Spry Funeral Home's Chapel at 2:30pm with Pastor Terrell Boyd officiating. A graveside service will be held Monday July 14th, at 11:00am EST, at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
