Melvin Luther Bartlett

Melvin Luther Bartlett, age 78 of Owens Cross Roads, died Tuesday at home. A native of Paris, IL, Mel has spent the better half of his life in Madison County.  

He is preceded in death by his loving Long time partner of 43 years Una Brooks.

He is survived by his like-son Jeff Brooks and his wife Lisa; like-daughter, Shelia Brooks; two like-grandchildren Brandon Brooks, and wife Sara, and Chrissy Jones; three like-great-grandchildren, Traevon Matthews, and his wife Kaylee, Ryley Brooks, and Anna Brooks; three like-great-great-grandchildren, Phoebe, Ruby, and Traevon Matthews Jr; and numerous friends. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville, where the family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00pm.  An entombment service will be held Friday at 11:00am at Valhalla Memory Gardens, with Natalie Brock officiating.
