Robert Michael Ferguson born November 30, 1950, passed peacefully surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his wife Cynthia Singley Ferguson(his wife of 54 years), daughters Jodi Bales (Jesse), Erin Cornerlius (Christopher) ,Bonnie Ferguson (Joshua).Brother Philip Ferguson (Karen).The light of his life, his grandchildren Ava Ferguson, Piper Cornelius, Sean Ferguson, Theron Cornelius, Kyle Bales and Mason Bales.
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Buckner Ferguson and Marjorie Naomi Ferguson as well as his beloved son Joshua Damon Ferguson.
Mike suffered from a aggressive form of lung cancer. He kept wonderful spirits through it all. To know Mike was to know love, kindness, and generosity. He was a happy character who had a calm loving spirit. He was passionate about his family and his music. Music made him feel alive and kept him going for a long time. The family is truly appreciative of his band mates that helped him play for as long as possible.
While he is aware there are many cancer charities, in lieu of flowers he would like donations to be made to the SAM(Suicide Awareness Means)Foundation, Suicide Awareness.
Per his request, A Celebration of Mike’s Life will be held at The Thirsty Turtle, on Sunday, February 23rd, 2025 from 2:00pm - 6:00pm. Please come raise a glass or share your favorite story.
