Nathan Padgett Howell

Nathan Padgett Howell, age 85 of Harvest, passed away Monday, August 28, 2023. He was born April 22, 1938 to Grady William and Onella Gray Howell in Plevna, AL. He loved spending time with his family and activities with his children and grandchildren. Mr. Howell served in U. S. Army Reserve from 1963-1969 and then spent his career of 50 years in the hotel business. He also enjoyed gardening and traveling.

Mr. Howell is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carrie Aliene Howell. They married on May 7, 1963. He is also survived by his children: Cynthia Rogers (Steve), Dwayne Nathan Howell (Connie), Michelle Heape (Aaron) and Sonya Holland (Chris); grandchildren: Lauren Howell, Jessica Marona (Chase), Kerri Cheng (Vince), Nathan Jared Howell, Isabella Heape, Cory Rogers, Jordan Holland and Aidan Heape; great grandchildren: Ryder Underwood, Bentley Underwood, Bo Marona and Gunnar Marona; and siblings: Etelka Walls, Twilla Brazelton, Elma Gibson, Doyle Howell, Myra Edwards, Talmadge Howell, Hilda Clinard, Fredia Woodard and Nelson Howell. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Keith William Howell; sister Treva Perez; and brothers Dwight Howell and Herman Howell.

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Valley View Memorial Gardens with Pastor Ricky Self officiating. Pallbearers will be Aaron Heape, Aidan Heape, Chris Holland, Cory Rogers, Nathan Jared Howell and Steve Rogers.
