Rhonda Joelle Umlor passed away in her home on Penny St. of a heart attack and left us on October 18th to be with her family in heaven.
If you remember anything of me after I leave this world,
Remember that I loved even when it was foolish.
That I cared even when it was unwanted.
When my body is gone, remember my heart.
Rhonda lived her life frugally and independently. She loved her family and friends. She had a passion for rescuing cats. The last cat she rescued was Jelly Bean. She loved all nature in its many forms visiting the mountain trails whenever she could. Aunt Da Da enjoyed showing her nieces and nephews about caterpillars and butterflies, especially Jackson Doty and Michael McCarty. She was a big fan of Jane Goodall.
Rhonda is survived by her sister, Janice Dawson, brother-in-law, Dale Dawson, sister, Jorgy Umlor, sister-in-law, Brenda Umlor, and many nieces and nephews.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents, George and Dorothy Umlor, and brother, Stanley Michael Umlor.
Rhonda was an avid reader, artist, crocheter, sewer and bicyclist. She loved to walk and has covered much of the mountain paths in the area, even taking us newbys on some beautiful hikes. She was a member of the Sierra Club. She attended college at UAH. She retired from Wholesale Trophies a few years ago. Rhonda was a member Of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Rhonda will be forever in our hearts and never forgotten. In lieu of a service we will plan a Celebration of Life on her birthday Feb. 19, 2026, venue to be determined.
In lieu of flowers donations to local rescue centers would be welcome.
