Rickey Fay Dowell

 Rickey Fay (Ric) Dowell, 65, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on December 7, 2020 while hiking in the mountains of Stevenson, Alabama.
Rickey Dowell was born in Huntsville, Alabama to Fay Jefferson Dowell and Ann Steelman on October 12, 1955.
Rickey went on to serve in the United States military during the Vietnam War. During his life, he worked as a business owner and pest control inspector for Green Leaf Pest Control. He enjoyed hiking, poetry, and traveling. Rickey was an avid outdoorsman who spent much of his time in nature. His favorite areas included Monte Sano Mountain, Elk River, and Russell Cave. Rickey spent much of his free time preserving and exploring his favorite nature spots.
Rickey Dowell was a loving father who is survived by his children, Joshua (34), Jacob (30), and Angelina (25). Rickey is also survived by his sister, Rebecca Long and grandchildren, Lawson, Gavin, and Lillian. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fay Dowell and Ann Steelman. Rickey is also predeceased by his step-mother, Nancy Dowell and sister, Deborah Dowell Chisholm.
A memorial service/celebration of life will be held at Spry Funeral Home on Saturday, January 2nd from 3PM-5PM. Spry Funeral Home will be handling all memorial arrangements.
