Sherrie Lynn (Myers) Moon

Sherrie Lynn Moon earned her wings on August 21, 2024, at age 64, after a long running battle with a rare immune disorder that she was simply too stubborn to quit or give in to. She was born on June 18, 1960. "Sherrie", "Mom", "Sissy", "Nana", as well as a few names that probably aren't fit to print... whatever one may have called her, she was appreciated and loved by all.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, William M. Moon, Jr.; her daughter, Amanda (Larry) Marsili; her son, William M. Moon III (Melissa); three siblings, Floyd(Junior) Myers, Bobby Myers, and Readis Boyette Swanson; her dogs, Diamond and Scooter; her beloved grandchildren, Desmond Marsili and Miracle Grace Moon; and countless friends and extended family members. She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Hilton Myers and Eula Faye Dalton Myers; and an older brother, Billy Lloyd Myers. Perhaps the greatest silver-lining to her passing is the comfort in knowing the she is finally getting the opportunity to meet, get to know, and spoil her two grandchildren that preceded her in death, Landon and Shyanne Moon. 

Sherrie loved to go thrift shopping, screaming at the TV hoping for a wreck watching NASCAR on Sundays, rooting for Auburn (or anyone else playing Bama), as well as watching non-stop game shows and Police TV, much to the aggravation of these who visited and shared a home with her. She collected small reminders of keeping life light and enjoyable, such as smiley face items, Snoopy Items, and even school bus items, which commemorate her nearly 20 years of service with the Madison City School system as a bus-assistant to special needs children in the community, which she loved and considered "her" kids, as an extension of her family.

While Sherrie may be a bit embarrassed by it all, the family hopes that friends and family alike can attend her Celebration of Life this Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 3:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. at Spry Funeral Home in Huntsville, Alabama. Sherrie was very clear in her desire that there be no formal funeral service, so the Celebration of Life will be a "come-as-you-are" event with a casual setting, where smiles, laughter, and remembrance will be enjoyed by those that can attend, and tears of sadness will have to be checked at the entrance, as Sherrie certainly wouldn't want the mood dampened of the Celebration that she will reluctantly be attending in spirit.
