Shirley Wall Obituary

Shirley Matzet Wall went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Holy Thursday, April 1st, 2021. She was surrounded by her loving family and in the comfort of her home.
Shirley married the love of her life, Bill Wall, on June 18, 1955. They moved to Huntsville in 1960 and had a wonderful life together for 54 years.
Shirley had a servant’s heart and was always volunteering for her Church and her children’s many activities. Through the years, she served as the PTA President at Chaffee Elementary and Grissom High School. She also volunteered for many groups at Holy Spirit and Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
After being a homemaker for many years, Shirley worked as a realtor before running a family printing business. She then moved onto working at UAH and Colonial Printing. She retired to spend time with her family.
The most important roles Shirley ever had were being a Christian, wife, mother, grandmother and most recently a great-grandmother. The greatest joys of her life were taking care of her family and practicing her Faith. She was truly an amazing person that was loved by everyone who met her.
Shirley is survived by six children; son Gus Wall (Stacey); daughters, Kathy Wall Williams, Linda Wall Billingsley (Bill), Christie Wall O’Connor (Mike), Terri Wall Keller (Tim), Julie Wall Madewell (Jeff); Eighteen grandchildren; Matthew (Georgianna) and Morgan Wall, Carter (Baleigh), Campbell and Cooper Williams, Ally, Nikki and Jenna Billingsley, Ryan (Samantha) and Riley O’Connor, Collin (Shea), Brendan and Owen Keller, Sydney Keller Bishop (Michael), Madison, Blake, Bailey and Greyson Madewell; great grand-daughter, Charlotte Bishop and soon to be great-granddaughter Emmy James O’Connor due in May; one brother-in-law Terry Wall (Pam). She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, William Carter Wall Jr.; her parents Herman and Viola Matzet; brother Jack Matzet.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 7 from 9:30-11:00 followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church with Fr. Tim Pfander officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Good Samaritan Hospice Care or Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
Shirley was greatly loved and will be missed by her family and friends. “Well done my good and faithful servant.”
