Sophronia Mae (Sanders) Neal

Sophronia Mae Neal, 96, of Gurley, Alabama, passed away peacefully on June, 11, 2025 at her home surrounded by family. She was born to Edwin and Lexie Sanders on September, 21, 1928 in Tipton, Tennessee. Mrs. Neal was a loving wife to Billy C. Neal for nearly 67 years before his death in 2015. Her boys Scott, Bruce, Billy Glen (Wanda) and Steve, all of Alabama, were her world.

Sophronia, enjoyed playing cards, working jigsaw and crossword puzzles, however growing flowers was a lifelong passion of hers.

Along with her sons, she leaves behind her last remaining sibling, Treasa Ferreira (Tom) of Lakeside, Ca. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She also, has many nephews and nieces.

Spry Funeral Home will have a family viewing on Monday, June, 16, 2025 from 9:30 am until 10 am. Public Viewing will begin at 10 am until 11 am. The Graveside service and burial will take place at Ragsdale Cemetery at 11:30 am.
