Terri Zimmerman Obituary

Terri Gayle Zimmerman, 73, of Harvest, AL, passed away peacefully in her home on June 22, 2025, after a long battle with ALS, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Terri was born November 25, 1951 in Houston, Texas. She was adopted at birth by her late parents Lena Marie and Harry Allen Zimmerman, of Houston, Texas, who gave her a wonderful childhood and upbringing as an only child with many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is also preceded in death by her biological parents, Evelyn Marie Moseley Craven and Weldon Earl Bales.

Terri graduated from Milby High School in Houston Texas in 1969.

Terri is preceded in death by her son, Allen Wayne Johnson; and brothers, Donald Earl Craven, Randall Lee “Randy” Craven, and Weldon Eugene Bales.

Terri is survived by her daughter, Brandi Smith of Harvest, AL, and daughter, Lauri Brock (Jonathan) of Pulaski, TN; grandsons, Taylor Smith (Bailey), Shay McGarity, and Trey McGarity;  granddaughters, Mackenzie Smith and Hannah Brock; great-grandson, Grayson Smith; brothers, Michael Craven (Barbara) of Texas, William Bales (Nancy) of Tennessee; sister by marriage, Cynthia Dean of Texas; two of her "Exes in Texas", Wayne Johnson and Dean Landry; along with several nieces and nephews, many long time friendships, and newly formed relationships with her biological family.

Terri enjoyed cheering “Roll Tide!” for her favorite college football team, the Alabama Crimson Tide. She was a lover of all sports. She loved making sure her puppies always knew how special they were to her. She loved serving at Pineview Baptist Church when she was able to get out and go. ALS made it impossible for her to do anything the last few years of her life, but she always found a way to shimmy in her bed when she would hear one of her favorite songs. We would worship the Lord and read the Bible together. She was always willing to share how good God is with anyone.

She will be remembered for her love for life and especially her love for her family, and hardly ever being afraid to try anything at least once. She will always be Johnny Depp’s biggest fan.

her family would like to especially thank Terri's nurse for the past year, Lisa with Gentiva Hospice and the whole hospice team. We also want to extend a debt of gratitude to all who took time out of their lives to pray, support, contribute and encourage our family during her journey.

We ask that you continue to spread awareness for ALS.
