Walter C. Bono, Jr., beloved father, age 91, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, and long time resident of Plaquemines Parish, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026.Walter proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a man of deep faith whose life was guided by his love of God, his country, and his family. His greatest joys were found in spending time with those he loved, cooking meals he prepared with care, fishing, playing musical instruments, woodcarving, crafting, politics, and being involved in his church community.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Louella Schaubhut Bono; and his son, Louis Bono.He is survived by his son, Brad Bono and wife Courtney; and his daughter, Connie Bono and husband Bo. He is also survived by his sisters, Marie Sanders and Katherine Caillouette and husband Vincent. Walter leaves behind several loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with many family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Walter will be remembered for his strong faith, his generous spirit, and the love he shared with all who knew him.
