It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. W.P. Gunner Wallis announces his passing after an extended illness, on March 1, 2023 at the age of 81.

Gunner passed away peacefully at his home in Toney AL and will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 37 years, Pam and his son Bill Wallis of Santa Rosa CA; sister, Karen FitzGerald; brother, Paul Wallis; sister, Marilynn DiLullo; sister, Jan Knapik. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Gunner retired from Civil Service with the Dept of the Army after 26 years and from the United States Marine Corps Reserve after 31 years. After relocating to Huntsville, he began working for Delta Airlines until his retirement in 2006. He was an avid golfer. Both he and Pam were members of the Best Ever Golf Association (BEGA). Gunner was also an active volunteer with the North Alabama Chapter of the American Red Cross.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross or to the American Cancer Society in Gunner’s honor.
