William "Rick" Fincher Obituary

William Richard “Rick” Fincher, 65, of Huntsville Alabama, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on April 8, 1960 in Montgomery, Alabama, Rick was the son of the late Bobbie Carole (Blair) Smith and William Bennie Fincher. He was a proud member of the IBEW Local 136 and spent his life as a dedicated union electrician. Rick had a deep passion for his work and loved traveling around the country for jobs, forming lifelong friendships along the way.

Family was at the center of Rick’s world. He is survived by his wife of six years, Polly Fincher; and his children, Ashley (David) Terry, Josh (Roxie) Fincher, Krysti (Josh) Manning, and Josh (Miranda) Kennemer.

Rick was a beloved Pawpaw to Lexi Meadows, Dakota Rhodes, Charles Terry, Dakota Lazenby, Maylee Fincher, Landon, Hayden, Marshal McKuhen, Jasper Timmons, Kayli Manning, Nick Manning and soon to arrive baby Kennemer, and a proud great-grandfather to Akarra Meadows, Cayden Meadows, and Andrew Lazenby.

He is also survived by his siblings, Robert (Martha) Fincher, Carole (Shane) Stanwitz, Renee (Joe) Borg, Brenda Fincher, Donnie (Cindy) Fincher, and Michael (Rebecca) Hinson; his step mom, Delores Smith; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

He is preceded in death by his son, William Derrick Fincher; as well as his parents, Bobbie Carole (Blair) Smith and William Bennie Fincher.

Rick loved nothing more than bringing his family together, especially at Christmas. Some of his happiest holidays were spent at Kick Back Ranch in Ramer, Alabama. He was an avid Alabama football fan, a man who appreciated a good meal, and someone who loved playing golf and spending time with family on the beaches of Gulf Shores.

Rick lived his life with strength, humor, and a heart full of love. Stubborn to his core in the most endearing way, he was known for being hard headed, a trait he passed down proudly, but that same stubbornness helped him fight through some of life’s hardest battles. He will be remembered for his generosity, his work ethic, his protective nature, and the way he fiercely loved his family.

His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he leaves behind will be cherished forever.
