Willie Mae (Gillman) Nelson

Mrs. Willie Mae Gillman Nelson, of Huntsville, Alabama, met her Lord on December 19, 2025.  She was born September 13,1935 in Holmes County, Florida, child of the late Annie and George “Coot” Gillman.

Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Robert Quinton Nelson and great-grandchild Austin Payton.  She is survived by her four children and three sons-in-law, Robert Quinton Nelson Jr., Debbie Payton (Billy), Diane Hutchison (Mark), and Ann Snow (Keith); five grandchildren, Jessica Payton, Kayla Payton Buchanan, Cody Snow, Sarah Snow Holbert, and Darby Hutchison Johnson; and five great-grandchildren.

She was a loving mother who dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren.  Her life will be celebrated in a service at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Holmes County, Florida where she was a member all her life.  Her nephew, Dale Paul, will officiate.
