Willodene "Meme" (Lyle) Smithey

Willodene Lyle Smithey “Meme”, 85 of New Hope, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022. She was born August 12, 1936 to Clarence Nolan and Velda Loraine Lyle in Huntsville, AL. Ms. Smithey attended Butler High School. She loved her family and the outdoors. She was a Christian lady and attended Central Baptist Church.

Ms. Smithey is survived by her daughter Rhonda Smithey; sons Steve Smithey, Randy Smithey and Ken Smithey; brother William Lyle; half brothers Warnie Lyle and Ray Lyle; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by a daughter Deborah Smithey; mother Velda Lyle; father Clarence Lyle; brother Coy Wayne Lyle; sister Linda Sandvose; great grandson Jeremiah Smithey; and half brothers Merle Lyle and George Lyle.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 14, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home with interment in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
