Barry Luther Owens, age 63, of Charleston, SC went to be with his Lord surrounded by his family on April 24, 2017 after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Barry was born on January 28, 1954 in Huntsville, AL to Frederick Sherman Owens, Sr. and Rose Marie Carter Owens. He was married to Kim Regina Weldon Owens in 1988. Barry had a contagious smile, a wonderful sense of humor and an unbreakable spirit. Barry was a master carpenter who could build and fix anything.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Sherman Owens, Sr. and his baby brother Tracey Dean Owens.

Survivors include his wife; Kim Weldon Owens, his children; Misty Lankford (David), Justin Owens (Savannah), Brad Crow (Christy) and Amber Crow McCormick; 13 grandchildren; his Mother, Rose Marie Owens; his siblings; Fred Owens, Jr. (Denise), Joyce Rodgers (David), Peggy Ginn (Sonny), Susan Smith (Rick) and Darcy Lancaster (Paul); his sister-in-law, Renaie Weldon Farish; and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville where the family will receive friends Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 11am to 1pm with a service to follow at 1:00pm in the chapel of Spry Funeral Home with Pastor William Rodney Gilmore officiating.  Interment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Roper St. Francis Cancer Center at rsfhfoundation.org.
